Are you ready to be a part of the return of a USGA Championship to the Pacific Northwest? Now is your chance.

Chambers Bay is excited to make this call for volunteers. Hosting a National Championship requires commitment from the Club as well as the surrounding community. Volunteers are the backbone that makes it feasible to bring these events to life. We now are accepting volunteer applications for the 2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship at Chambers Bay and stroke play co-host The Home Course.

    • Sunday, May 23rd: Qualifying round #2 (Stroke play) @ Chambers Bay and The Home Course
    • Monday, May 24th: Round of 32 (Match play) @ Chambers Bay
    • Tuesday, May 25th: Round of 16/Quarterfinals (Match play) @ Chambers Bay (Volunteer total at capacity)
    • Wednesday, May 26th: Semifinals/Championship (Match play) @ Chambers Bay (Volunteer total at capacity)
  • Field Size: 128 Sides (2-person teams)
Volunteer Information
The basic volunteer package price is $75.00.  This charge will cover the cost of two (2) 2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship embroidered Adidas volunteer shirts, one (1) 2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship embroidered Adidas volunteer jacket, an Adidas cap, volunteer credential, breakfast or lunch on the days you volunteer.  Additional shirts may be purchased at the cost of $40.00 each (maximum 2, offer communicated at a later date).

Volunteers will be expected to be available for an average of three shifts during the Championship.  The actual number of shifts you will be asked to work will be based on your role assignment.

Volunteer assignments will be made approximately 30 days prior to the Championship.  At that time you will receive via e-mail, your volunteer assignment days and times volunteer training schedule. Volunteers will receive an invite to VIP outing upon completion of their service.

Volunteer Roles
Stationary Forecaddies - Forecaddies will be positioned throughout the golf course and will be responsible for maintaining fair playing conditions for the players during the competition at all landing areas to help spot stray golf balls as well as facilitate the flow of movement for players, caddies, officials and the media. Marshal volunteers will be assigned at both The Home Course (5/22 & 5/23) and Chambers Bay (5/22 - 5/26).

Scorers - During stroke play, a scorer will be positioned at each hole and record hole-by-hole scores on a tablet provided by the USGA. Once match play begins scorers will be assigned to a group to follow throughout their round. This will require a volunteer to walk the entirety of the golf course. Scoring volunteers will be assigned at both The Home Course (5/22 & 5/23) and Chambers Bay (5/22 - 5/26).


Volunteers will need to have a negative COVID-19 test result, conducted within one week of the event start date (5/22/21). Free testing will be available throughout Pierce County COVID-19 testing stations. Volunteers should come prepared to show proof of a negative test upon check-in for their shift. Volunteers will be asked to sign an attestation that they have been tested and received a negative test result within 6 days of reporting for duty as well as attesting to not having symptoms and agree to daily self health-screening.

Volunteers are required to wear masks or face coverings during the duration of their shift unless consuming food or drink.

Volunteers will have until Friday, May 7th to cancel and receive a full refund. Cancellations inside that period will not be refunded but will still receive the merchandise package.

Criminal Background Question

If you have been convicted of a crime, we will send you a confidential questionnaire about your conviction that must be completed and returned before your application will be considered.

At Chambers Bay, volunteer parking will be located at the clubhouse level. At the Home Course, Volunteers be directed by an attendant upon entrance. Volunteer Parking Passes will be distributed at volunteer training and must be clearly placed on your vehicle dashboard.

For the safety of all staff, players, and officials the Championship will be conducted without public spectators. There will be a limited number of player guests allowed to attend.

Smoking Policy
Volunteers are asked to refrain from smoking and consuming alcohol while in uniform. Smoking is prohibited inside all hospitality areas.

Volunteer Applications
All volunteer applications must be completed using this online store format. No in-person applications will be accepted.

Volunteer Meals
Volunteer food and beverage will be available at Chambers Bay and The Home Course. Light or Continental Breakfast will be available at volunteer check-in. Volunteers will receive a voucher good for one meal or breakfast/lunch voucher depending on shift worked and is redeemable at any concession location at either course.

Volunteer Uniforms
Volunteer uniforms must be worn at all times while you are working. You will receive volunteer shirts and other apparel at training and must be worn with khaki pants or shorts. Volunteers should wear comfortable shoes and cannot wear spiked shoes.
